About Me
I became interested in Bowen when most other physical therapies had failed to help my chronic back pain. Bowen gave me significant relief and I was impressed by the subtleties of the approach.
I studied for my Diploma under the Bowen Academy of Australia (Bowtech) and I also have the ITEC Anatomy and Physiology Diploma.
I am a full member of the Bowen Practitioners associated with the Bowen Therapy Academy of Australia and the UK Association, and was a committee member in 2005. I am also a full member of BTER - Bowen Therapists European Register.
I have Professional Membership of the NHS Directory of Complementary and Alternative Practitioners, Back Care, Pain Concern, Endometriosis UK and The She Trust.
I have a particular interest in treating women's health problems, chronic fatigue, chronic pain and back pain (generally). I am also quite willing to work with patients whose injuries have not responded well to other therapies in the past, or to whom I am the 'last resort'. I am also very interested in working with dancers, especially classical ballet dancers, and the acute injuries sustained by dancers.
I welcome GP/Consultant referrals, and I am committed to working towards the development of integrating Bowen (amongst other therapies) within the NHS.
I have written a number of articles about the Bowen Technique, and have had several published including one by the The British Medical Journal. I have also had articles published about me in the Cambridge Explorer Magazine and Cambridge One Time Magazine.
You can find more links to other on-line articles about Bowen Therpay on my 'Links: About Bowen' page.
